Working with Strabel Racing Services

From the first registration to the final podium, here is how we ensure your event's timing is flawless.

01

Pre-Race Setup

We coordinate with your registration platform (RunSignup, etc.) to sync athlete data. If ordered, we prepare and sort your custom bibs (Blue, Green, Orange ranges) for easy packet pickup.

02

Race Day Logistics

Our team arrives 2–3 hours early. We deploy RFID mats, the 20ft finish arch, and backup timing systems. We are fully self-contained with our own generator power.

03

Live Execution

As racers cross the line, results are broadcast live to our web portal and on-site kiosks. We provide announcer tablets so your MC can call out names in real-time.

Standard Service Agreement

Organizer Responsibilities

  • Final participant data must be delivered 24 hours prior to race start.
  • Provide a 10x10 space for the timing tent at the finish line.
  • Secure any necessary permits for finish line structures (arches).

The "Alaska" Clause

Our equipment is rated for extreme conditions (rain, snow, cold). However, in the event of lightning or winds exceeding 35mph, we reserve the right to deflate the finish arch for safety while maintaining timing via ground mats.

Payment & Cancellation

  • A 25% deposit is required to hold your date on the 2026 calendar.
  • Balance is due within 15 days of the completion of the event.
  • Cancellations within 14 days of the event may forfeit the deposit.

*Full legal contract provided upon quote acceptance. Strabel Racing Services uses RaceResult technology and Summit Timing Systems for maximum redundancy.

Athlete FAQ

How soon will my results be posted?
Most results are "Live," meaning they update as soon as you cross the finish line. You can check them instantly on your phone via our Results Hub. Final, verified results are usually published within 2 hours of the final finisher.
Where should I wear my timing chip?
It depends on the race:
  • Running: Your chip is usually on the back of your bib. Keep it visible on your chest—do not fold the bib!
  • Skiing/Triathlon: We use an active ankle strap. Ensure it is securely fastened over your boot or ankle.
  • Cycling: We use a seat-post tag or a fork-mounted transponder.
My time isn't showing up. What happened?
Common reasons include: wearing the bib under a heavy jacket, a damaged chip, or crossing the line while not wearing your bib. If your time is missing, please visit the Timing Tent with your bib number and your approximate finish time (from your watch) so we can check the backup video.
What do the different bib colors mean?
We often use colors to denote different distances or wave starts (e.g., Blue for 50k, Green for 25k). Check the event's "Final Instructions" to ensure you have the correct color for your category.
What is the difference between "Gun Time" and "Chip Time"?
Gun Time is the time from the official start signal. Chip (Net) Time starts only when you personally cross the start mat. For large waves, your Chip Time is the most accurate reflection of your performance.
